This isn't the best way to report a bug. Please add a description of the specific problems being seen with the wireless in the bug description, then run 'apport-collect 1496027' in a terminal to attach machine information and logs to this bug. If possible, it's preferable to attach the logs after the machine has been experiencing problems so that the logs might contain some relevant information.
As for the firmware version mismatch, that's actually normal for iwlwifi. The driver supports a range of firmware versions and will always load the latest version it supports. This may not match the version reported in the module information that modinfo use to determine the required firmware, but this is not a problem. If you wish to experiment to see if this is a regression caused by the firmware you can temporarily rename the newer firmware files in /lib/firmware to force iwlwifi to load an older firmware version. ** Changed in: linux (Ubuntu) Status: In Progress => Incomplete -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Kernel Packages, which is subscribed to linux in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1496027 Title: iwlwifi: Intel 7260 poor performance and disconnects Status in linux package in Ubuntu: Incomplete Bug description: This report is a condensation of an extended IRC support session for a user with ongoing problems with Intel 7260 performance on 14.04.3.
