It all works fine when it is first powered on in either configuration, as well as when it awakes from sleep. However, once I switch to the opposite configuration from the initial power-up, I experience brief moments of unresponsiveness. I switch between configurations by entering suspend (sleep), either docking or undocking the laptop, and then returning from suspend mode. The unresponsiveness is most often triggered by tooltips appearing in any program, and the system remains unresponsive until the tooltip disappears. The behavior may occur for other types of windows or UI components, but I can't say for certain. When I'm experiencing this issue, the mouse moves and most screen updates still happen (It will cause most video playback to pause, however). However, mouse clicks and typing are ignored or queued up. I'm using Ubuntu 15.04, with the nvidia-355 binary driver. I've used other versions of the nvidia driver, and they have all exhibited this behavior or had other issues. I don't recall having this issue with 14.10, but I can't confirm it. --- ApportVersion: 2.17.2-0ubuntu1.3 Architecture: amd64 AudioDevicesInUse: USER PID ACCESS COMMAND /dev/snd/controlC1: troy 3291 F.... pulseaudio /dev/snd/controlC0: troy 3291 F.... pulseaudio CurrentDesktop: GNOME DistroRelease: Ubuntu 15.04 HibernationDevice: RESUME=UUID=ae9c899d-aaf8-42e8-9165-ffc08269576c InstallationDate: Installed on 2015-03-26 (168 days ago) InstallationMedia: Ubuntu-GNOME 14.10 "Utopic Unicorn" - Release amd64 (20141022.1) MachineType: LENOVO 4239CTO NonfreeKernelModules: nvidia Package: linux (not installed) ProcFB: 0 inteldrmfb ProcKernelCmdLine: BOOT_IMAGE=/boot/vmlinuz-3.19.0-28-generic root=UUID=6113f906-aaea-4e54-abf5-3722066a6a6d ro quiet splash ProcVersionSignature: Ubuntu 3.19.0-28.30-generic 3.19.8-ckt5 RelatedPackageVersions: linux-restricted-modules-3.19.0-28-generic N/A linux-backports-modules-3.19.0-28-generic N/A linux-firmware 1.143.3 Tags: vivid Uname: Linux 3.19.0-28-generic x86_64 UpgradeStatus: No upgrade log present (probably fresh install) UserGroups: adm cdrom dip lpadmin plugdev sambashare sudo _MarkForUpload: True dmi.bios.date: 07/11/2011 dmi.bios.vendor: LENOVO dmi.bios.version: 8AET49WW (1.29 ) dmi.board.asset.tag: Not Available dmi.board.name: 4239CTO dmi.board.vendor: LENOVO dmi.board.version: Not Available dmi.chassis.asset.tag: No Asset Information dmi.chassis.type: 10 dmi.chassis.vendor: LENOVO dmi.chassis.version: Not Available dmi.modalias: dmi:bvnLENOVO:bvr8AET49WW(1.29):bd07/11/2011:svnLENOVO:pn4239CTO:pvrThinkPadT520:rvnLENOVO:rn4239CTO:rvrNotAvailable:cvnLENOVO:ct10:cvrNotAvailable: dmi.product.name: 4239CTO dmi.product.version: ThinkPad T520 dmi.sys.vendor: LENOVO To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1494092/+subscriptions -- Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~kernel-packages Post to : kernel-packages@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~kernel-packages More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
