Maybe it's a question of timing. It's hard enough to get grub to come up. I have to carefully press ESC repeatedly - but not too fast - or I don't see grub. Once I'm in grub it's easy enough to just boot the -46 kernel. But thanks, perhaps this will provide a clue to the fixers. By the way, what hardware are you finding this on?
