The next functioning mainline kernel is v4.0-rc1-vivid. No problem there. I suggest you abandon completely this very problematic end of life kernel and quickly test and backport a newer series. 3.19 up to 3.19.7 has also given me similar grief on my old Macbook 2,1 64bit. --- ApportVersion: 2.17.2-0ubuntu1.1 Architecture: i386 CurrentDesktop: LXDE DistroRelease: Ubuntu 15.04 InstallationDate: Installed on 2012-09-04 (998 days ago) InstallationMedia: Lubuntu 12.04 "Precise Pangolin" - Release i386 (20120423) Package: linux (not installed) Tags: vivid Uname: Linux 4.0.0-040000rc1-generic i686 UnreportableReason: The running kernel is not an Ubuntu kernel UpgradeStatus: Upgraded to vivid on 2015-05-31 (0 days ago) UserGroups: adm cdrom dialout dip fax floppy fuse lp lpadmin plugdev sambashare sudo tape video _MarkForUpload: True To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1460365/+subscriptions -- Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~kernel-packages Post to : kernel-packages@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~kernel-packages More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
