This never bothered me as I rarely used it, but a need has arisen for me to be using it a lot in the future which leaves me stuck with it not working. Issue When I plug a SD card into the reader it does not get mounted and is therefore not displayed in the file manager. Expected behavior It is expected that the card be detected and mounted so that it can be displayed and used via the file manager. Extra Information - In the attached file, an SD card was plugged in at dmesg time 7344. - The lsusb for the device is 'Bus 001 Device 003: ID 0bda:0159 Realtek Semiconductor Corp. RTS5159 Card Reader Controller' - Multiple cards were tested, and they work on another Ubuntu laptop with a card reader. --- ApportVersion: 2.14.1-0ubuntu3.10 Architecture: amd64 AudioDevicesInUse: USER PID ACCESS COMMAND /dev/snd/controlC0: pieter 2213 F.... pulseaudio CurrentDesktop: Unity DistroRelease: Ubuntu 14.04 HibernationDevice: RESUME=UUID=315c3792-1cb8-454d-8007-a53c7393d16f InstallationDate: Installed on 2014-07-05 (319 days ago) InstallationMedia: Ubuntu 14.04 LTS "Trusty Tahr" - Release amd64 (20140417) Package: linux (not installed) ProcFB: 0 inteldrmfb ProcKernelCmdLine: BOOT_IMAGE=/boot/vmlinuz-3.13.0-53-generic root=UUID=c3f1b585-7dac-48da-9d8c-396272c8a91c ro quiet splash vt.handoff=7 ProcVersionSignature: Ubuntu 3.13.0-53.88-generic 3.13.11-ckt19 RelatedPackageVersions: linux-restricted-modules-3.13.0-53-generic N/A linux-backports-modules-3.13.0-53-generic N/A linux-firmware 1.127.12 RfKill: 0: phy0: Wireless LAN Soft blocked: no Hard blocked: no Tags: trusty Uname: Linux 3.13.0-53-generic x86_64 UpgradeStatus: No upgrade log present (probably fresh install) UserGroups: adm cdrom dip libvirtd lpadmin plugdev sambashare sudo _MarkForUpload: True dmi.bios.date: 06/03/2009 dmi.bios.vendor: Hewlett-Packard dmi.bios.version: F.06 dmi.board.asset.tag: Base Board Asset Tag dmi.board.name: 3069 dmi.board.vendor: Quanta dmi.board.version: 21.0B dmi.chassis.type: 10 dmi.chassis.vendor: Quanta dmi.chassis.version: N/A dmi.modalias: dmi:bvnHewlett-Packard:bvrF.06:bd06/03/2009:svnHewlett-Packard:pn:pvrRev1:rvnQuanta:rn3069:rvr21.0B:cvnQuanta:ct10:cvrN/A: dmi.product.version: Rev 1 dmi.sys.vendor: Hewlett-Packard To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1457395/+subscriptions -- Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~kernel-packages Post to : kernel-packages@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~kernel-packages More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
