In this case, there are 4 physical drives. /dev/sda /dev/sdb /dev/sdc /dev/sdd The problem is, the system is also showing /dev/sde - /dev/sdh. These drive assignments are associated with the previous /dev/sda - /ev/sdd in order: /dev/sda = /dev/sde /dev/sdb = /dev/sdf /dev/sdc = /dev/sdg /dev/sdd = /dev/sdh Please see attached lshw.txt for details. --- AlsaDevices: total 0 crw-rw---- 1 root audio 116, 1 May 18 19:17 seq crw-rw---- 1 root audio 116, 33 May 18 19:17 timer AplayDevices: Error: [Errno 2] No such file or directory ApportVersion: 2.14.1-0ubuntu3.10 Architecture: ppc64el ArecordDevices: Error: [Errno 2] No such file or directory AudioDevicesInUse: Error: command ['fuser', '-v', '/dev/snd/seq', '/dev/snd/timer'] failed with exit code 1: DistroRelease: Ubuntu 14.04 Lsusb: Bus 004 Device 001: ID 1d6b:0003 Linux Foundation 3.0 root hub Bus 003 Device 001: ID 1d6b:0002 Linux Foundation 2.0 root hub Bus 002 Device 001: ID 1d6b:0003 Linux Foundation 3.0 root hub Bus 001 Device 001: ID 1d6b:0002 Linux Foundation 2.0 root hub Package: linux (not installed) PciMultimedia: ProcEnviron: TERM=xterm PATH=(custom, no user) XDG_RUNTIME_DIR=<set> LANG=en_US.UTF-8 SHELL=/bin/bash ProcFB: ProcKernelCmdLine: root=UUID=8269eeb0-c861-4f2d-b284-a6a8c7adcef9 ro ProcVersionSignature: Ubuntu 3.16.0-37.51~14.04.1-generic 3.16.7-ckt9 RelatedPackageVersions: linux-restricted-modules-3.16.0-37-generic N/A linux-backports-modules-3.16.0-37-generic N/A linux-firmware 1.127.11 RfKill: Error: [Errno 2] No such file or directory Tags: trusty uec-images Uname: Linux 3.16.0-37-generic ppc64le UpgradeStatus: No upgrade log present (probably fresh install) UserGroups: _MarkForUpload: True To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1456316/+subscriptions -- Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~kernel-packages Post to : kernel-packages@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~kernel-packages More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
