i have this problem with kernel 4.0-rc6 and a amd c-60 (there is a bug on the kernel.org bugzilla somewhere but i lost it) , ive attached a log of turbostat running and this is the cpufreq-info output of one core:
analyzing CPU 1: driver: acpi-cpufreq CPUs which run at the same hardware frequency: 1 CPUs which need to have their frequency coordinated by software: 1 maximum transition latency: 4294.55 ms. hardware limits: 800 MHz - 1000 MHz available frequency steps: 1000 MHz, 800 MHz available cpufreq governors: conservative, ondemand, userspace, powersave, performance current policy: frequency should be within 800 MHz and 1000 MHz. The governor "ondemand" may decide which speed to use within this range. current CPU frequency is 1000 MHz (asserted by call to hardware). cpufreq stats: 1000 MHz:5,31%, 800 MHz:94,69% (27776) ** Attachment added: "turbostat.log" https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/877877/+attachment/4364377/+files/turbostat.log -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Kernel Packages, which is subscribed to linux in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/877877 Title: AMD Turbo Core not working on 11.10 Status in linux package in Ubuntu: Triaged Bug description: The kernel says: $ dmesg | grep powernow [ 1.877385] powernow-k8: Found 1 AMD Phenom(tm) II X6 1100T Processor (6 cpu cores) (version 2.20.00) [ 1.877398] powernow-k8: Core Performance Boosting: on.
