I installed Ubuntu 14.04.2 64-bit edition on a brand new Toshiba c75d-b7215 laptop about 2 days ago. The laptop itself is dual- booting with Windows 8.1, and the Windows partition appears to look OK (haven't really spent that much time in it, though). I followed the Easy Linux Tips guide (https://sites.google.com/site/easylinuxtipsproject/) for optimizing Ubuntu. However, my laptop keeps restarting itself quite randomly. For example, I can have about 10 tabs open on Chrome 64-bit edition, and LibreOffice open, and then my laptop will restart itself. I don't know whether or not this is a hardware issue or a Ubuntu issue. I would like to know soon, because I have about 10 days to decide whether or not I need to return this laptop and replace it with something else. Thank you.
