Background information: the main problem is the nvidia driver. I have also freezes at boot with the last line stating ACPI: Video Device .... Unfortunately with this hardware I cannot use builtin Intel GPU because it does not drive any of external video ports. I have two 3K monitors connected over docking stations DPorts , lid is closed.
I tried all 3 version of nvidia binary driver available through packet manager, none works properly in context of suspend/hibernation. Suspend/Hibernation never worked reliably. I have managed a few times to wake the system from hibernation, but it was very rare. As this issue being fixed is very important to me, let me know how can I help further.
