Thanks for update Mr. Christopher M. Penalver. I did as you suggested
and installed the v3.19-rc6-vivid kernel. Sadly the problem still
exists. When you type in xinput -list the touchpad is not present and is
still not working.

Track Pad is not detected by Linux

Bug description:
The trackpad for my Asus laptop does not work under Linux. The device itself
does not exist according to linux.
Model of laptop: Asus K55N-HA8123K
I expected to be able to use the Track Pad under Ubuntu.
Unfortunately it has not worked. I have tried what solutions have been
available on the websites.
