Rick D, I have a L75D-A7280, and the wifi works when you follow the instructions in this answer http://askubuntu.com/a/322737/128334.
As you may already know, the video drivers aren't quite ready, but the generic drivers work ok as long as you're not gaming or doing anything too demanding. Yes, with the generic drivers, unfortunately, the video processing is hoisted on the main proc, but it's not the end of the world for me since I don't really do anything graphically intensive. I would dual boot for now. You can follow my steps in this question to get your video working http://askubuntu.com/questions/322755/unity-hangs-after-installing-amd- catalyst-13-6-linux-beta-driver Everything more or less works for me. The wifi adapter doesn't seem to be recognized at all: doesn't show up in NetworkManager, no adapter listed by iwconfig. The wifi card seems to be a RTL8188E (lspci -nn tells me it's 10ec:8179). I've tried to: - install the Realtek driver for the RTL8188CE (seemed close enough...) - install the driver from https://github.com/tianon/linux-rtlwifi-8188ce - install linux-backports-modules-cw - upgrade to kernel 3.7 None of those worked. --- ApportVersion: 2.6.1-0ubuntu10 Architecture: amd64 AudioDevicesInUse: USER PID ACCESS COMMAND /dev/snd/controlC0: cat 1782 F.... pulseaudio CRDA: Error: command ['iw', 'reg', 'get'] failed with exit code 1: nl80211 not found.
