Hmm, it thinks it is disconnected. I wonder how the display showed the boot sequence & grub screens if it is disconnected. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Kernel Packages, which is subscribed to linux in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1035556 Title: 1002:9442 Monitor not detected via DisplayPort [Radeon HD 4850] Status in “linux” package in Ubuntu: Incomplete Bug description: I have a PowerColor AX4850 512MD3-DHO video card, a BenQ XL2420TX monitor, and a Dell 3008WFP monitor. I tried to connect the BenQ monitor with the DisplayPort connection. This video driver did not recognize that there was anything plugged in. Even if the BenQ was the only monitor connected, the OS driver found nothing. WORKAROUND: The ATI binary BLOB did properly recognize this monitor plugged in to the DisplayPort, but that driver is unusable for other reasons. I currently have this monitor connected via HDMI, but this connection precludes the use of 120 hz refresh and 3D video.
