Not an issue for 2.4 GHz networks. Yes, the 432b supports an just fine in Windows 7 and MacOS. I have not tried b43 yet, although I hear it is supported. It is not a network manager bug, because the "scan" command for that interface also only shows 2.4 GHz networks. The worst part about this bug is that auto-connect does not work for "hidden" wireless networks. My network is not actually hidden...it just seems that Ubuntu thinks it is. 1. Description: Ubuntu 11.10 Release: 11.10 2. bcmwl-kernel-source: Installed: 5.100.82.38+bdcom-0ubuntu4 Candidate: 5.100.82.38+bdcom-0ubuntu4 Version table: *** 5.100.82.38+bdcom-0ubuntu4 0 500 http://mirror.cc.columbia.edu/pub/linux/ubuntu/archive/ oneiric/restricted amd64 Packages 100 /var/lib/dpkg/status 3. I expect to be able to view the 5 GHz network in network manager applet. I also expect auto-connect. 4. I cannot view the 5 GHz network in network manager applet. Auto-connect does not work because the system thinks the network is "hidden".
