Title: Samsung UpStage Phone USB Mass Storage not accessible Status in “linux” package in Ubuntu: Expired Bug description: Binary package hint: linux-image Probably similar to other usb bugs posted, but it seems that a bug for this particular device has not been reported yet. Mass Storage on my Samsung Upstage Phone (MPH-620) was recognized and automounted under Ubuntu 7.04 (running the 7.04 LiveCD on my system) but access is broken on 7.10 (installed). This is running off a usb 1.1 port so the ehci_hcd issue shouldn't apply here. The dmesg output after the phone is connected and put in mass storage mode is: [ 669.033992] usb 3-1.4: new full speed USB device using uhci_hcd and address 5 [ 669.160066] usb 3-1.4: configuration #1 chosen from 1 choice [ 669.275760] usbcore: registered new interface driver libusual [ 669.360765] Initializing USB Mass Storage driver... Reading/writing is fine. Not so under ubuntu 7.10 WORKAROUND: I modified /etc/udev/rules.d/65-persistent-storage.rules in the following way: Beginning near line 60 I commented out : IMPORT{program}="vol_id --export $tempnode" And replaced with: (1 line) ENV{DEVTYPE}!="disk", ENV{ID_VENDOR}!="Samsung", ENV{DEVNAME}!="/dev/sdb", IMPORT{program}="vol_id --export $tempnode" After rebooting, now the USB storage on my phone is accessible.
