I recentently upgraded to Kubuntu 14.04 beta: KAddressbook Version 4.13 beta2 Using KDE Development Platform 4.12.90 Still the same. When I delete ~/.kde/share/apps/kaddressbook/viewertemplates/ , an empty folder is recreated when starting Kontact. Then I started KAddressbook itself (not embedded in Kontact!) and... everything just works. It also creates the empty folder but the contact info, QR etc is shown.
