I have created a fresh user on my system. For this user I have set up kmail with two of the above three accounts: Kobalt W.I.T. - Geert and Kobalt W.I.T. - Info. Both worked without a hitch... So I tried again to delete and recreate the failing accounts on the exsiting user and now they all work as well. Go figure...
