--- Comment #5 from Janet <[email protected]> --- Instead of adding additional context menu entries you could also make use of the middle mouse button to let the user open links in a second browser. Left click opens in default browser, middle click opens in alternative browser. It's exactly as [email protected] says. One has a default browser and the need to open certain URLs with another one because the sites do not work correctly with your default and otherwise loved browser. You might say that it's the problem of the browser devs. In first place it is, yes. You are right in saying that by default people use a specific browser, yes, but that's not the point. And do you really want to advice the people using konqueror to switch to another browser? I did, finally. And yes, it was the lack of this feature in Kmail that led me to the decision. I like konqueror a lot and would love to use it as default browser for most of the sites but I didn't like that I have to copy & paste specific URLs in KMail to temporarily use another browser. It's about convenience and workflow, so I switched completely because of Kmail's lack of assistance. Kind of funny isn't it? BTW there are other use cases where it might be helpful to be able to open a link from kmail in another than the default browser: Imagine two persons using one computer with one user profile (no, they don't want two profiles because they don't want to hide things from each other etc...). They use kmail with two accounts, no problem. But they use different browsers because they want different bookmarks and need different cookies to be set. One of them always has to copy & paste the links. Or two people using the same bookmarks but e.g. just having two facebook accounts or the like. So they want to open all links for email address 1 with konqueror and all links from address 2 with firefox. Or one person with private and job accounts and the need for different browsers for different email addresses... Well, I just found the launchy add-on for thunderbird which does exactly what we requested for kmail... so yes, kind of resolved for me I guess. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug. _______________________________________________ Kdepim-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://mail.kde.org/mailman/listinfo/kdepim-bugs
