The 4.8.5 patch does not fix this issue.

The content of the emails is still removed.

I might have found another piece of information though. After kmail received
the email it showed an akonadi conflicting message dialogue which seems to show
that either spamassasin eats the email's content, which I think is unlikely, or
that kmail/akonadi does already feed the external app with an empty email.
