What I am unpleasently surprised about is that Kmail would move all the mail from the Maildir into its own local storage ( ~./.kde/share/apps/kmail/mail and delete it from ~/Maildir. I doubt that this is the behaviour most people expect. I surely don't, because I don't want kmail to own all my mail but I want to remain able to access it with other clients as well, such as mutt or Thunderbird / Icedove I am on current Debian Wheezy.
