Summary: kmail stays in offline mode, unable to send emails
           Product: kmail2
           Version: 4.8
          Platform: Archlinux Packages
        OS/Version: Linux
            Status: UNCONFIRMED
          Severity: normal
          Priority: NOR
         Component: general
        AssignedTo: [email protected]
        ReportedBy: [email protected]

Version: 4.8 (using KDE 4.8.0)
OS: Linux

Since the update to kmail 4.8.0 kmail constantly switched to offline mode.
Everytime I check for mail manually it ask whether I'd like to switch online.

It gets even more annoying when I try to send a mail: It stays in the outbox
and I can't even select "send queued mails" from the menu as it is gray. There
is a workaround here at least: Open the mail again, hit send, then kmail asks a
different question: "The mail dispatcher is offline, mails can not be send. Do
you want to make it online ?" I click yes and then I can select "send queued
mails" from the menu and it finally sends the mail.

Restarting kded4 seems to "fix" the issue:

killall -9 kded4
kded4 & disown

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
Happens after a clean kde start, with existing network connection using
networkmanager.

Actual Results:
Kmail constantly goes to offline mode.

Expected Results:
Kmail should detect correctly if a network connection is available and then
switch to online mode.

OS: Linux (x86_64) release 3.2-pf
Compiler: gcc
