Let me summarise the Problem, so maybe someone can solve this bug (I still thing it is a bug, since I don't get an error message): If I ste the Athentication to Plain, the authentication works, since the folder structure is downloaded from the server. After synchronisation, all folders and subfolders are available within kmail. However, without any mail. If I change to "Clear text", everything works as expected.
