+++ This bug was initially created as a clone of Bug #272920 +++

See bug 272920 for the background story. Short version: In version 2.0.95
KMail somehow put some mails which were supposed to be stored in my IMAP Trash
folder in the local folders ("KMail Folders") trash folder. But I couldn't see
them.

Over the time I accumulated quite some mails in that trash folder, nowdays it
shows 73 unread mails but when I select it, I can't see anything, the folder
spinner doesn't stop spinning. Today I noticed the popup "Kmail Folders: Given
item identifier is empty" for the first time.

I'll attach the full output of ls -ltr in the trash folder, but here's an
excerpt:

mss@TreeHouse:~/.kde/share/apps/kmail/mail/trash/new$ ls -ltr
