Of course this will breaks things... So please try to do it 'properly' and remove ~/.config/akonadi, ~/.local/share/akonadi ~/.kde/share/config/akonadi*, ~/.kde/share/apps/akonadi* and your ~/.kde/share/config/kmail* to start with a really clean setup.
