But even if it wasn't, it should be in the set of buttons to be configurable and not in a configuration options, in my view. The configuration also is suboptimally named. For E5 it should be on and their by default. Maybe it can be made dynamic depending on the resources that akonadi uses to save or get the data from, e.g. contacts.
