(also I suggest to use the 'Personal Contacts' resource for better performance and support of sub address books). The all contacts shall appear correctly on startup. The second problem is a known issue which has already been fixed, just add wait_timeout=1296000 to your ~/.local/share/akonadi/mysql.conf to avoid a MySQL timeout.
