Bug ID: 496156 Summary: KMail will not show the IMAP folders on new account setup Classification: Applications Product: kmail2 Version: 5.24.5 Platform: Ubuntu OS: Linux Status: REPORTED Severity: major Priority: NOR Component: UI Assignee: kdepim-bugs@kde.org Reporter: peter+...@mutable.cc Target Milestone: --- Created attachment 175747 --> https://bugs.kde.org/attachment.cgi?id=175747&action=edit Screenshot of window with just local folders SUMMARY I just installed Ubuntu 24.04 and opened KMail, tried to set up my Fastmail IMAP account. After several attempts, I was able to add an account. I confirmed everything was set up right (username, password, hostnames, port numbers, etc). But after closing and reopening kmail, there is only local folders. I have no way of seeing the remote mail. I have looked at every option and I cannot find a way to actually see the mail from the account I set up. (There are a ton of window freezes, but that's not what this bug is about) STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Start KMail on fresh machine install 2. Go through account setup process 3. Deal with random freezes and the wizard trying to do a bunch of stuff I don't want 4. Finally get past the setup process 5. Close KMail and reopen 6. Go through account settings to confirm account is set up right 7. Close KMail and reopen again 8. Still only local folders 9. Click Check Mail->IMAP Account 1. Nothing happens... 10. Close and reopen 11. Still only local folders....?? OBSERVED RESULT No IMAP mail folders at all EXPECTED RESULT Seeing the IMAP folders, or something other than local mail?
