--- Comment #126 from Aldo Latino <[email protected]> --- (In reply to PK from comment #124) > To my regret I must say that on my system it doesn't work (completely). > - to start I tried configuring kmail using the new tool in the > systemsettings and that didn't work at all > - the I used the good old account wizzard of kmail itself and that went > fine. Only when I, some time later, tried to send an email, it went wrong. > I was informed that to send an email I had to use a app-specific password or > so. I resolved updating the connection settings. Go to Settings > Configure Kmail > Sending tab [1] > Select your Gmail account, then Modify. General tab: - Outgoing email: smtp.gmail.com - Activate "The server requires authentication" - Username: your email address - Password: leave it empty - Save SMTP password: unchecked Advanced tab: - Cipher: STARTTLS - Port: 587 - Authentication: XOAUTH2 Leave all other fields empty and the checkboxes deactivated. With these settings my Kmail works as expected when sending emails. [1] I use Kmail in Italian, so I don't know the exact strings used. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.
