You can attach GDB to the running akonadiserver process: create a file called "akonadi.dbg" with following content: c set pagination off t a a bt q Then attach GDB to the running Akonadi server process: gdb -p $(pidof akonadiserver) -x akonadi.dbg Once the server crashes, GDB will print out the backtrace of the crash and quit.
