I think the relevant part of the log would have been the command-line that
triggers this, because then it would be possible to experiment a little.
However, it seems like this PR also requires a system where -march=native is
actually a Penryn, which makes is quite difficult to reproduce without actual
hardware.

The one other PR mentioned is <something fails to compile for other reasons>
that **also** fails to compile for you with Penryn. PR 264750 is the same issue
as this one. Neither seem specific to the port being compiled, and it looks
like a compiler issue more than anything else.
