            Bug ID: 496888
Summary: VPN connection does not provide any details when it
                    fails to connect.
    Classification: Plasma
           Product: plasma-nm
           Version: unspecified
          Platform: openSUSE
                OS: Linux
            Status: REPORTED
          Severity: normal
          Priority: NOR
         Component: applet
          Assignee: plasma-b...@kde.org
          Reporter: j...@ganomi.com
  Target Milestone: ---

SUMMARY
When VPN connection fails it does not provide any details on why it failed to
connect. This is extremely annoying for the user, because the user does not
know why. Was it a bad password? Was it for other reason? The applet should
allow the user to view the full connection log to determine why the connection
failed.
You might argue that users can see it somewhere in the log, but normal users
dont know where the logs are. It would be much easier to display the reason why
it failed or the full connection log that they can provide it to the VPN admin.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Create a VPN using the KDE NM applet.
2. Try to connect to VPN with a wrong details.
3. When the connection fails it only tells you the VPN connection failed. Not
why it failed which is included in logs.

OBSERVED RESULT
No details are provided why the connection failed.

EXPECTED RESULT
The applet should provide quick access to the logs for that particular
connection to determine why the connection failed.

SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS
openSUSE Tumbleweed latest
