Bug ID: 496641 Summary: Packages missing for fingerprint unlock Classification: KDE Neon Product: neon Version: unspecified Platform: Other OS: Linux Status: REPORTED Severity: normal Priority: NOR Component: general Assignee: neon-b...@kde.org Reporter: jpe...@petsovits.com CC: carlosd....@gmail.com, j...@jriddell.org, neon-b...@kde.org Target Milestone: --- SUMMARY After installing Neon, I tried setting up fingerprint unlock in the Users KCM. For Framework laptops, this is a documented part of the installation procedure on other distros [1][2]. Neon does not ship the packages by default to enable fingerprint authentication. After installing the required packages (libpam-fprintd, with its dependencies: fprintd, libfprint2-tod1, libfprint2-2-2), the UI show fingerprint setup controls in the Users KCM and the lock screen lets me use fingerprints to unlock the session. The packages should be installed by default. Open Users page in System Settings OBSERVED RESULT No fingerprint setup shown on the page. EXPECTED RESULT "Configure Fingerprint Authentication..." button should show at the bottom for the current user.
