--- Comment #9 from backu...@yahoo.com --- Zip with offending file is attached. The offending file, DALLĀ·E 2024-04-02 19.33.38 - Sprout Fashion 1.jpg has a middle dot character (unicode 0xb7 or 183) that apparently is acceptable by Windows 10 OS. UPDATE Renaming all files to eliminate unconventional characters did NOT seem to resolve the issue of digiKam failing to populate thumbnails in the Collection Album. However, after downloading and saving exiftool.exe to a system PATH directory and specifying the exiftool location in Settings > Configuration > Metadata >ExifTool the Collection now populates successfully. Being that ExifTool is open source, I'm surprised that it's not included within the `digiKam-8.5.0-Qt6-Win64.exe` installation package. FURTHER TESTING 1. Remove all Collections 2. Shutdown digiKam and delete database 3. populate a test folder with middle dot offending filenames. 4. Start digiKam Still no issue resolving thumbnails and sub-directories. It appears that the bug may only happen when ExifTool is not available. Thanks for the ExifTool tip and for pointing out the possibly offending filename character. digiKam is working for me as expected and as needed again. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.
