Bug ID: 496008 Summary: Application Launcher, bottom panel, and wallpaper functionality all broken after upgrade to 24.04 Classification: Plasma Product: plasmashell Version: master Platform: Neon OS: Linux Status: REPORTED Severity: normal Priority: NOR Component: Application Launcher (Kickoff) Assignee: plasma-b...@kde.org Reporter: runawaytr...@gmail.com CC: mikel5...@gmail.com, noaha...@gmail.com Target Milestone: 1.0 SUMMARY After upgrading to 24.04 via the upgrade tool, the bottom panel (the one with current applications, the time, volume controls, etc.) on the desktop and the application launcher are both no longer present, and do not appear via the `meta` shortcut or mouse hover as usual; and the wallpaper is now black regardless of what image I set it to. I've tried switching between X11 and Wayland. Sometimes on startup the bottom panel appears for a brief moment, but then disappears again. I've checked and the `meta` key is still assigned to the application launcher. I've tried assigning new shortcuts, they don't work either. KRunner still works fine. STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Upgrade to 24.04 on KDE Neon. 2. Boot up the computer. 3. Attempt to access the application launcher or bottom panel. OBSERVED RESULT Application Launcher and Panel are not visible, and will not activate. EXPECTED RESULT Application Launcher launches with `meta` key; panel appears on mouse hover.
