In GnuCash we experience similar issues in the display of reports. The
rendering is done by WebKit and apparently there are some incompatibilities
between some versions of webkit and some NVidia driver versions.
The workaround for GnuCash is to start the application as follows:
WEBKIT_DISABLE_COMPOSITING_MODE=1 gnucash
Perhaps the same workaround works for Kmail ? What happens if you start kmail
as follows:
WEBKIT_DISABLE_COMPOSITING_MODE=1 kmail
