Bug ID: 494669 Summary: Would like to set a separate timeout for keyboard backlight Classification: Plasma Product: Powerdevil Version: 6.2.0 Platform: Fedora RPMs OS: Linux Status: REPORTED Severity: wishlist Priority: NOR Component: general Assignee: plasma-b...@kde.org Reporter: kde.shrug...@passmail.net CC: natalie_clar...@yahoo.de Target Milestone: --- SUMMARY If I’m watching a video or similar on my laptop, I don’t want the screen dimming, but I’d like if the keyboard went dark after 10-15 seconds of inactivity, and light up again as soon as I touch the trackpad or press a key. I think Dell laptops handle this automatically, but Asus just stays on the set brightness until it’s changed by me or the OS. STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Open System Settings > Power Management 2. Look for a way to set a timeout for keyboard backlight OBSERVED RESULT Only available through "Dim automatically" EXPECTED RESULT Separate timing for turning off keyboard backlight without dimming screen SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS Windows: macOS: (available in the Info Center app, or by running `kinfo` in a terminal window) Linux/KDE Plasma: Fedora Linux 40 KDE Plasma Version: 6.2.0 KDE Frameworks Version: 6.7.0 Qt Version: 6.7.2 ADDITIONAL INFORMATION jpetso asked me to file this here after I wrote a post on discuss. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.
