Hi Andy,
DigiKam 8.5.0 will have new facial detection and facial recognition
capabilities. One of the new features allows the user to specify if there are
"very small" faces in the image digiKam should look for. This helps
significantly with recognition of faces in large group photos.
I hope you'll test out the new feature in when digiKam 8.5.0 is released and
let us know how we did.
