Bug ID: 493984 Summary: Inconsistent options for enabling viewing toolbars; missing context-sensitive behavior for toolbar configuration Classification: Applications Product: kdenlive Version: 24.08.1 Platform: Other OS: Linux Status: REPORTED Severity: normal Priority: NOR Component: User Interface & Miscellaneous Assignee: j...@kdenlive.org Reporter: bern...@yahoo.com Target Milestone: --- SUMMARY (1) The way widgets, statusbar, and toolbars are switched on and off is not consistent (2) The Toolbar Configuration dialog is not context-sensitive This is not necessarily a bug report or feature request but more of an observation and suggestion for improvement. (1) The menu View allows to switch on or off (enable or disable) the widgets (for example Media Browser, Online Resources), and whether or not title bars are shown. The Settings menu contains the controls for status bar, menu bar, and whether the main and extra toolbars are displayed. However, a right-click on the menu bar opens a list of all the widgets with their current view status, and lists options for the main and extra toolbar (also with their current view status). This is convenient but somewhat inconsistent. I propose to move the controls for status bar, menu bar, and the additional toolbars from the Settings to the View menu. (2) A right-click on a toolbar gives the option to Configure Toolbars which in turn opens the configure toolbars dialog window. By default, the Main Toolbar is selected in the toolbar drop-down list. It would be better and more convenient, if the drop-down list element corresponding to the toolbar where the right-click was done on were selected. For example, the user right-clicks the timeline toolbar, selects Configure Toolbar, and in the dialog window the timeline toolbar would already be selected from the drop-down list. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.
