            Bug ID: 373017
Summary: Background parser memory on large project
           Product: kdevelop
           Version: 5.0.2
          Platform: Appimage
                OS: Linux
            Status: UNCONFIRMED
          Severity: crash
          Priority: NOR
         Component: code completion
          Assignee: kdevelop-bugs-n...@kde.org
          Reporter: gnu...@gmail.com
  Target Milestone: ---

Hi,

First of all thank you very much for this nice piece of SW.

I'm using it on a rather large project about 2mio LOC consisting of
C/C++/QML/Python/CMake and expecting big troubles with the background parser.

My project consists of about 30 sub-projects which are all loaded in a single
session.

If I use background parsing of source KDevelop-5.0.2-1 starts to fill up my
memory (16GB + 16GB Swap) within a few minutes when I use 8 background threads.
When I just use 1 it would take a few minutes longer to eat my memory.

Turning off background parsing, solves the problem for me currently (just very
small leakage), but I really love (and need) the benefits the background
parsing gives me... At least for such a large project.

Thanks in advance and keep up the good work!

Best,
 gnux
