Bug ID: 493829 Summary: Cannot enable password input after resuming from sleep, *sometimes* Classification: Plasma Product: kscreenlocker Version: 6.1.5 Platform: Arch Linux OS: Linux Status: REPORTED Severity: normal Priority: NOR Component: general Assignee: plasma-b...@kde.org Reporter: lk.d...@protonmail.com Target Milestone: --- SUMMARY Sometimes, when resuming from sleep, I am unable to show/enable the password input field, by pressing any key or moving the cursor with the touchpad. This prevents me from logging back in, and I have to force restart my laptop. The screen is not frozen, I can still see the lock screen's clock ticking. The keyboard works, for example I can switch a different TTY and type anything I want there. Not sure if the touchpad works, because I cannot even see the cursor when it happens. I tried typing the password anyway and hitting ENTER, in case the input field is just hidden but still enabled, but that didn't work. The issue can be difficult to reproduce because it does not happen every time. STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Put the laptop to sleep. 2. Wake up the laptop from sleep. 3. Press any key or move the cursor with the touchpad. OBSERVED RESULT The password field does not appear, the cursor does not appear, it is not possible to log in. EXPECTED RESULT The password field should appear when any key is pressed or the cursor is moved. In addition, when the cursor is moved it should appear. SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS Linux/KDE Plasma: Arch Linux 6.10.10-arch1-1 KDE Plasma Version: 6.1.5 KDE Frameworks Version: 6.6.0 Qt Version: 6.7.3 ADDITIONAL INFORMATION I have not seen the same issue so far with the linux-lts (6.6.52-1) kernel. My laptop is the ASUS Zenbook 14 UX3405MA. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.
