Bug ID: 493587 Summary: Delayed video signal recovery after inactivity-induced screen blanking Classification: Plasma Product: KScreen Version: 6.0.5 Platform: Other OS: Linux Status: REPORTED Severity: normal Priority: NOR Component: common Assignee: kscreen-bugs-n...@kde.org Reporter: cantf...@gmail.com Target Milestone: --- Created attachment 174028 --> https://bugs.kde.org/attachment.cgi?id=174028&action=edit journalctl log when the screen is black. SUMMARY After resuming from sleep, the display does not receive a signal. This occurs both on the lock screen and after blindly unlocking the system by entering the password. When switching to another TTY, the signal is restored, but switching back to the TTY running X11 causes the signal to be lost again. The time it takes to recover video output on X11 varies from seconds to minutes. STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Leave the system idle until the screen blanks (signal lost, but screen stays on). 2. Attempt to wake the screen by moving the mouse or pressing keys. OBSERVED RESULT The screen stays black (no signal), even though the keyboard is functional. It could take more than a minute before the signal is restored. Switching to another TTY works, but switching back to X11 cuts the signal again. EXPECTED RESULT The display should resume as soon as the system receives input (mouse movement or keyboard press).
