Thank you for the bug report!
Reports should not contain multiple completely distinct issues, as it makes it
much harder to act on and track them. It will get confusing which issue someone
is talking about. May i ask you to file a separate report for your issues with
Wayland and with sound? We can then use this report to investigate your issues
with the panel not showing up on X11.
After you added your own panel, does it show up correctly and only the default
panel is missing? Can you test a new user account and see if the panel shows up
there correctly? Do you use an external monitor/other screen with your laptop?
