I see this in my journal under normal operation:

Failed to play sound with VLC:
"/usr/share/sounds/freedesktop/stereo/alarm-clock-elapsed.oga"
I feel like maybe this should be a little higher priority than normal. An alarm
clock failing can be pretty disastrous IRL.
