Thank you for the report, I can reproduce the problem!
The problem seems to be twofold:
1) Changing time resets transform mask cache
2) Starting the playback (or animation cache regeneration) resets transform
mask cache
3) When transform mask tries to recalculate the cache, it stops the animation
playback
