Hey there. This feature exists, here's how to use it.

1. Select a range of frames within the timeline frames view.
2. Right-click on a selected frame.
3. From the pop-up menu, pick "Hold Frames>Insert Hold Frame" or "Hold
Frames>Insert Multiple Hold Frames".

These options will add 1 or more frame gaps between all of the selected frames,
which is an easy way to go from 1s to 2s or 3s.
The opposite can be done with the "Remove Hold Frames" options.
