"Hit Alt+Space" isn't very helpful to me I'm afraid; when I press this, I just
see the normal KRunner. You've attached two screenshots of KRunner, one with a
light color scheme and one with a dark color scheme. Are you saying that
sometimes it appears with a different color scheme or something?
