Bug ID: 492306 Summary: NeoChat crashes when last window state was maximized Classification: Applications Product: NeoChat Version: 24.08.0 Platform: Gentoo Packages OS: Linux Status: REPORTED Severity: normal Priority: NOR Component: General Assignee: fe...@posteo.de Reporter: sighun...@gmx.de CC: c...@carlschwan.eu Target Milestone: --- Created attachment 173033 --> https://bugs.kde.org/attachment.cgi?id=173033&action=edit backtrace for segmentation fault SUMMARY After upgrading to NeoChat 24.08.0 (from 24.05.2) it started crashing for me. It briefly shows the "Welcome to NeoChat" login window and then closes. After investigating, I narrowed it down to the [Window] Window-Maximized=true part in ~/.local/state/neochatstaterc. When I quit NeoChat while it is maximized, neochatstaterc contains [Window] 1707x960 screen: Window-Maximized=true and it crashes on next start However, when I quit NeoChat while it is windowed, next time I start it, it successfully starts. neochatstaterc in this moment contains [Window] 1707x960 screen: Height=876 1707x960 screen: Width=1704 This is on resolution 2560x1440 with 150% DPI scaling. I suspect somehow "neochat window size" is larger than "screen resolution" and it crashes When I change the dimensions to anything smaller, while "Window-Maximized=true", it successfully starts. Also, when I just remove ": Window-Maximized=true" in the file, it successfully starts too. I included a backtrace, hope it is meaningful SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS Operating System: Gentoo Linux 2.15 KDE Plasma Version: 6.1.4 KDE Frameworks Version: 6.5.0 Qt Version: 6.7.2 Kernel Version: 6.10.6-gentoo-dist (64-bit) Graphics Platform: Wayland Processors: 20 × Intel® Core™ i9-10850K CPU @ 3.60GHz Memory: 31.2 GiB of RAM Graphics Processor: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3080 Ti/PCIe/SSE2 ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: Does not happen on my other desktop PC which also has 2560x1440 and 150% scaling -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.
