I also suspect widgets based on the backtrace. I wanted to track down some
reference to a specific widget in gdb, but there are too many compiler
optimizations for me. Maybe it would help me if one of the developers could
advise me which frame to focus on and how to dump the necessary variable
content to reveal the conflicting widget.

I've tried deleting the ~/.config/plasma* files and gradually setting up the
environment again as needed. I did suspend/resume continuously. As soon as I
added the 'cpu usage' and 'memory usage' widgets, it started crashing again on
waking from sleep.
So I suspect the 'cpu usage' and 'memory consumption' widgets from this. I
place them in the bottom panel to the left of the clock. I use the 'line graph'
view in them.
