Could it have anything to do with dbus?
I can't resist the suspicion that openrc vs systemd lies at the root of the
issue, and the logging shows a number of dbus-related complaints including this
one that's repeated several times during session launch:
Couldn't start kglobalaccel from org.kde.kglobalaccel.service:
QDBusError("org.freedesktop.DBus.Error.ServiceUnknown", "The name
org.kde.kglobalaccel was not provided by any .service files")
A number of dbus-related things including polkit, pipewire and plasma-pa have
issues in this session as well (although oddly, most do not occur if I launch
vncserver directly as my user instead of by initscript).
