Ok, I have a theory: it's kde-gtk-config. Can you enter `kcmshell6 kded` in a
terminal window, uncheck "GNOME/GTK settings synchronization service", remove
the line from the files, reboot, and then try again? If I'm right, the
offending line will not be re-added to the files.
