thx for the information, interesting finding.. 
btw. i would also reccoment to enable the "wide color gamut mode" ->
kscreen-doctor output.xxxx.wcg.enable

this changes the colors also somewhat, i would say not that much washed out
then without it... but i would have to compare to windows with the same test
pictures/video to check really what the difference in color
grading/shading/warmth
